Refund Policy
Short version: Petnote Pro is sold without refunds. The Free plan exists so you can use Petnote properly before you pay for anything, and cancelling takes one click and keeps Pro running until the period you have paid for ends.
Last updated August 12, 2026.
1. No refunds
Payments for Petnote Pro are final. We do not issue refunds, credits or partial reimbursements, and this applies whatever the reason — including the ones that come up most often:
- You changed your mind, or stopped needing the paid features.
- You forgot to cancel before a renewal charge.
- You did not use the account, or used it less than you expected to.
- You cancel partway through a billing period and leave paid time unused.
- You bought the yearly plan and decided months in that the monthly suited you better.
- You are dissatisfied with a feature, or with a change we made to one.
- Your account was suspended or terminated for breaching the Terms of Service.
Why it is written this way. Pro is a digital service delivered in full the moment it is switched on, and there is nothing to return. Rather than price in refunds, we keep a Free plan that is genuinely usable — a real pet profile, the Emergency Mode page, the QR code, the reminders — so the decision to pay is made after using the product rather than before.
2. Cancelling
You can cancel at any time from Plan & billing in your dashboard. Cancelling stops the next charge. It does not end your access immediately and it does not trigger a refund: Pro keeps running until the end of the period you have already paid for, and only then does the account return to Free.
Nothing you have stored is deleted when a subscription ends. A Free account keeps every record; it simply shows fewer of them at once, and everything reappears if you subscribe again. Deleting your data is a separate, deliberate action described in the Privacy Policy.
If you cancel and then change your mind before the period ends, reactivating from the same page carries the existing period on — there is no new charge and nothing to set up again.
3. Who you actually paid
Payments are processed by Paddle, which acts as the merchant of record for Petnote. That means your purchase is a contract with Paddle as reseller, Paddle's Buyer Terms apply to it alongside this policy, and the charge on your statement will name Paddle rather than us.
One consequence is worth stating plainly: Paddle can issue a refund at its own discretion, under its own terms, and it does not need our agreement to do so. This policy sets out when we will refund, which is not at all. It cannot and does not restrict what Paddle decides.
Petnote never receives or stores your card details. We hold only the status of your subscription and the identifiers Paddle gives us to keep it in sync.
4. Rights the law gives you anyway
Nothing in this policy removes a right you cannot legally give up. Consumer protection law in some countries — including the European Union and the United Kingdom — grants a statutory right to withdraw from a distance contract within a set period. Where such a right applies to you, it applies, and this policy is read subject to it.
Where you are a consumer with a statutory withdrawal right and you choose to start using Pro straight away, you are asking us to begin performing the contract immediately and acknowledging that the right is reduced or lost accordingly, to the extent your law permits. If you would rather keep the full withdrawal period, do not start using the paid features and write to codezun@gmail.com instead.
We would rather say this than pretend otherwise. A blanket “no refunds under any circumstances” is not enforceable against a consumer with a statutory right, and a clause a court strikes out casts doubt on the ones around it. The rule above is firm precisely because this carve-out is honest.
5. Billing mistakes
A billing mistake is not a refund request and we treat it differently. If you were charged twice for the same period, charged after a cancellation had already taken effect, or charged an amount that does not match the plan you chose, email codezun@gmail.com with the date and amount and we will get it corrected.
Reversing a charge that should never have been made is not a refund. It is a fix.
6. Chargebacks
If something looks wrong with a charge, email codezun@gmail.com before contacting your bank. Almost everything is faster to resolve directly, and a chargeback raised without asking us first tends to take weeks and to end where it started.
We reserve the right to suspend or close an account with an unresolved chargeback against it, and to decline future subscriptions from it. We will not do that while a genuine question about a charge is still open with us.
7. Changes to this policy
We may update this policy. The version that applies to a payment is the one published when that payment was taken, so a change here never reaches backwards into a purchase you have already made. Material changes are reflected in the date at the top of this page.
8. Contact
Petnote is operated by Codezun, established in Honduras. Everything about billing, cancellation and this policy goes to codezun@gmail.com. It is the only support channel — there is no contact form and no phone line — and it is read by a person.
